Most carriers allow up to 100 lbs. of soft goods inside the trunk of the vehicle at no additional charge. It is important however to keep in mind that their insurance will not cover your personal items. If you pack personal items into your car and they shift or break along the journey, the carrier will not assume responsibility. We recommend to ship only soft, non-valuable items such as linens, towels, etc.
Food, plants, firearms or any illegal items are not allowed.
That’s a tricky question. We always tell our customers to book sooner than later as availability is limited. We do have availability for 5-10 vehicles on each truck, however if you are in a hurry to ship your vehicle and the truck fills up, we will be able to schedule you for the next available truck.
An open carrier is very safe and the most common shipping method due to cost. During an enclosed transport, vehicles are loaded onto a truck with fewer cars and is not exposed to outside conditions during transport. In addition, the insurance coverage is normally $300,000 per vehicle with enclosed transports versus $150,000 with open transports. Most enclosed trucks are equipped with a lift gate or extra-long ramps for low clearance vehicles, therefore most customers who are shipping very expensive or antique vehicles generally use enclosed transports.
United freight of America is a broker and uses independent contractors to transport our customer’s vehicles. With years of experience, we have established long-term relationships with quality carriers. We also provide dispatch service to many carriers nationwide. Most carriers do not operate a sales or customer service department nor do they invest in nationwide advertising, which is why using a broker company is generally the best option. Choosing an honest, experienced broker company is most important.
We ship many non-running vehicles with all different types of non-running issues, however the vehicle will need to at least be able to roll, steer and brake. Please notify your representative of any non-running issue so that we can make certain to schedule your vehicle on a truck with a winch.
Our quotes are all inclusive and guaranteed. We will not change the price or ask for additional fees.
Try to keep the gas tank level between a quarter to half full.
Make sure the vehicle is clean enough to have a proper inspection.

Transporters will get as close to your door as possible for the pickup and delivery of your vehicle(s). If, for safety reasons they are not able to do so, they will ask you to meet them at a safe location such as a main road or a large parking lot close by to perform their duties.
We only charge a down payment upon booking using any major credit or debit card and the remaining balance is due upon delivery of the car and can be paid directly to the carrier by cash, certified check or money order. That depends on availability and notice. With our Flexible Service option, we can pick up your vehicle during a 3-business day window.
Damage occurring during transport is pretty rare but unfortunately does happen at times. If your car is damaged, it is important to notate the damage on the bill of lading at the time of delivery before signing it. We also recommend taking pictures of the damage and contact our office during business hours. We will be happy to assist and explain the necessary steps for filing a claim with the carrier.
As the vehicle owner, you are not required to be present at the time of pickup or delivery but you will need to authorize a person who can hand the keys to the driver and complete the inspection process on your behalf.
Unlike our Flexible Service option that requires a 3-business day window for pickup, our Expedited Service option is available for customers that need to schedule their pick up on a specific day. The fee for the Expedited Service is between $150 -$300, depending on the type of vehicle and transport locations.

It went well. This was the first time I have used a auto transport company and I was not disappointed. I have read horrible reviews online about other transport companies so I was a little nervous about using United Freight of America. The process was quick- delivered vehicle several days before expected delivery. The driver was very professional and punctual. I will definitely use this company again if I have any other auto transport needs.
